CHS Band Camp July 22 - 26

I hope everyone has had a great summer! Next week (July 22-26 at CMS), all high school marching band members (including incoming freshman) begin our yearly band camp. During our first week, students learn marching fundamentals and begin working on this year’s show music. Band camp is essential to high school band members. It is a week full of musical growth, new friends, and exciting activities.

Band Camp Schedule:
(Monday - Thursday)
7:00 AM Breakfast
7:30 Field Fundamentals
9:30 Break
9:45 Full Wind / Percussion/ Guard
11:00 Lunch
Noon Sectionals
2:00 PM Break
2:45 Full Wind / Percussion / Guard
3:30 Dismiss

Monday Night Drum Corps International Performance:
Meet at 5:30 Bus to Mesquite
Leave Mesquite 9:30 Parent Pickup at 10PM at CMS

Tuesday Night Karaoke 5PM

No events Wednesday evening

Thursday Night 5Pm Band Olympics / Senior Night

Friday Schedule:
7AM Breakfast
8AM Fundamental Contest (family and friends are welcome to attend)
9:AM Camp Concert (family and friends are welcome to attend)

Students should bring a large insulated water container, sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat. Students should wear shorts and a t-shirt, and must wear athletic style sneakers with laces. Breakfast and lunch are provided, and students are always welcome to bring their own food.

Rehearsals will continue throughout the following days leading up to the start of the school year. Those specific dates and times will be found on our band calendar on the Band App. All band students must maintain active connectivity on the band app. We have a separate organization setup for parents. Students and parents can easily connect with band staff, boosters and other members through the app.

Physical Information - Available at HS Campus

All band members, incoming grades 9-12, will be required to get a new physical for the 23-24 school year.

HS Band Permission Slip (Coming Soon) - This form must be completed and submitted before you can travel to any event with the band.
